Behind

I am up, and er, blogging. This is not part of my week’s timetable. I am already behind schedule. I think as long as I get dressed and breakfasted NOW, things will be alright.
Hmm.
Still need to upgrade Wordpress.
OK. Weetabix time.

Return of the Mac (2)

My iBook has just booted up. It seems to be random as to when it decides to work and when it decides not to. Definitely not reliable. I think I’m never going to turn it off. See how it takes that for size.

Return of the Mac

An amazing thing happened a couple of days ago. Well, amazing in the sense that I’ve really done not that much since my two-week holiday began.
My iBook died a few months ago. Quite drastically. I was in the middle of writing an assignment, as I am lots recently, and my Mac froze. Fine. Quite rare, [...]

Shiny 2.5

Oooh, shiny Wordpress 2.5! Surely everybody should be using Wordpress?
And now, work. Please. Come on. Work, Dave, work!

Hull for a day

It’s that time of year again when I drive to the picturesque(!) Hull to see my mother and step-dad. Only going for the day. Tonight Beth and I will probably go to see The Other Boleyn Girl.. Don’t think it’s had rave reviews, but should be interesting. Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson in the same [...]

As time flies by

I’ve just come out the other end of a three-hour-long youth leaders’ planning meeting. I survived, just.
In other news, I have come to realise the amount of work that I need to get done this holiday. Fortunately, I have another week and a half to do it in, but I know that time is going [...]

Wedding progress made.

It’s been a busy weekend of wedding planning. We now have more of idea of what we’re doing with invitations. I’ve fully decided on what suits I want - colour and style. (Hope you like hot pink, James!) And we’ve also decided on our wedding rings. The only problem being, that my fingers are weird. [...]

Reality

Sometimes the realisation that Jesus Christ was actually a real man hits me afresh. That when he was being whipped and beaten and nailed to a wooden beam, he did it for the actual and real salvation of humankind. It wasn’t just a “normal” crucifixion. He did it for me. It was personal. This is [...]

Ahoy there.

Can you tell I am putting off tidying my room?

It was lost, but now it’s found

Oh, and I found my iPod. It was buried in my bag, amongst folders and papers. I am relieved, but was looking forward to having to buy a brand-spanking new 160GB one, or an iPod Touch. Oh well. Maybe I need to try harder to get it stolen.

A Surprise Pass, or A Project of Fifths

Yes. I love my holiday already. I love it. I love not having to plan lessons for tomorrow, and I love not having to write an assignment for next week. However, I do have to plan lessons this holiday, and I do have to write an assignment. But not urgently. As long as I manage [...]

And so it begins.

This evening marks the start of two weeks and two days of sweet, sweet holiday. I have many jobs to complete, but tomorrow I sleep.
I am about to go to bed. But, in a nutshell:
1) I didn’t have to plan the talent-show at school.
2) I did sing in that stupid song. I Got You Babe. [...]

Listening, singing and playing.

So, that’s it then. A final evening of planning before the Easter holiday. I have also discovered the delights of hypem.com - streaming mp3s of about any artist you can think of. And I’ve upgraded my last.fm account for a mere £1.50 per month.
I am tired. But so pleased that tomorrow is the last day. [...]

Steely

I took this a couple of weeks ago at a gig by The Steels - a youthy Christian rock band. They were surprisingly good. I took around 200 photos, most of which are decidedly mediocre. A few are acceptable however, and I am incredibly slowly going through them one by one. This is one of [...]

Hot off the press

I’ve just decided I’m staying in bed until 12:30pm on Thursday. How about that? Lovely.

Yes please

One of these would be lovely, to keep me warm in those long and cold March nights. And in the day time also.

2 and counting

Two days to go! I cannot wait until the holiday gets here. Planning is slowing down as a) I can’t be bothered and b) there’s not that much to plan, as I only have half a week this week.
But now I must wash up and make some food. And drink some Dr Pepper. I bought [...]

Three days to go…

Three days to go until holiday! It seems strange to have a two week holiday coming up, but I’m not complaining. It is going to be wonderful to have a little time to myself. I could tidy my room. I could read! I could sleep! The possibilities are almost endless. I do have work to [...]

Doing nothing about anything

Happy Saturday. Thanks. Today I slept until 10:50am. It was nice to be able to do that. And I thought I had more planning to do, but it turns out that I really don’t. Most of next week’s lessons are lessons that I’ve already planned and taught to previous classes. Now if I’m doing this [...]

If it wasn’t for kids, I’d be a great teacher

So everything was handed in today. A mediocre assignment and a very poor assignment written between 1 and 2am this morning. Monday to Wednesday next week are the remains of this term, then we have the Easter holiday, in which I can sleep. And if I was wise, I would plan and write a significant [...]
