Turn left, then turn left.

Yes, I’ve been testing my new TomTom. My dad gave it to me. He likes to give me his old stuff. He gave me a mobile phone for my 21st, almost 8 years ago now. It was huge. A brick, and it had no volume control so when I got a text, it pierced everybody’s [...]

Stagness

It’s the boy Kieran’s stag-do this Saturday. I for one cannot wait. It will be fun! BBQ then a jolly galavant around the Yorkshire countryside. Nice. Unfortunately I will not have my new lens in time, but I shall of course be taking my trusty sidekick and his 50mm buddy.
*dull section commences forthwith*
However, I have [...]

difficulty

But before I do…

I’m just thinking about my new 24mm lens, that I’ll hopefully be purchasing fairly soon. With birthday money. Partly. And, well, I can’t wait, to be honest. But I will wait. I’m just thinking how I’ve got used to snapping with my 50mm, and how different it’s going to be to have loads more stuff [...]

Time to apply for another job

“Fear not,” said he, for mighty dread had seized his troubled mind.

i’m still here!

Silence is golden

I started off today in silence. Beth did her youth meeting last night on silence. Being silent before God, and allowing Him to speak to you.. Or, allowing yourself to hear Him. I always have music on, or Radio 4, and so there’s always something for my ears to listen to. But I forget that [...]

It’s done it again

Almost done, but loads to do

We’re gettin’ busy… (who’s in the house?)

Busier than average week, this one.. I have an interview tomorrow, Beth has an interview on Wednesday, and I’m being observed teach by an external examiner on Thursday. So I think I should go to bed, really.

Waiting for the oven to preheat

Say what?

Sorry, there must be some kind of mistake. 7th May??? When did that happen?! May???

How DARE you.

Today behaviour management suddenly clicked into place. It felt natural telling a kid off, for the first time. I didn’t struggle to come up with the right words to say. My tone of voice was perfect. It was a good feeling. Not a power trip or anything like that, though.
However, I need to keep it [...]

Curious

So my mini-survey of reader attendage (new word) proved meaningless and inconclusive, as I feared and guessed it would. I shall have to presume that I have a mere three four readers.
Dear Three Four Readers. Louise, Skelto, Simonsays and Jenn. You are vastly appreciated and treasured. I am writing for you. And if anyone else wishes [...]

Registration period

It’s that time of my life again where I sit and wonder, “does anyone actually read this thing?” And so, I give you, the Dave8.com Census 2008.
Please raise your hand and say “Yes sir,” if you are present.

Another interview…

Applied for two, interviewed for two. My next interview is at a school in Barnsley, a week on Monday. I will say no more.
I am trying to work on my assignment this weekend. It’s now or never, literally, as it’s due in on Tuesday. I am struggling to focus.

three photos from last weekend.
